October 2018: Maintenance work on the wind turbines on the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower.
Since 2015, and in collaboration with UGE V-AIR, BATEG, and the Eiffel Tower Operating Company, ENERLICE has been responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the two VisionAir5 wind turbines installed on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Reaching a height of 127 meters above the ground, with an estimated annual production of 10,000 kWh, these turbines supply the electricity needed for the first-floor shop of the monument.

Visited by nearly 7 million tourists each year, the famous 125-year-old Eiffel Tower has embarked on a project to reduce its environmental footprint. The Eiffel Tower Operating Company (SETE) has therefore decided to install two vertical-axis wind turbines on the monument. Manufactured by the American company Urban Green Energy, the two turbines are 7 meters high with a wingspan of 3 meters. They have been integrated at the second floor level, “this space being more suitable for optimal wind capture.”
