GPA, the French leader in automotive recycling with more than 25,000 vehicles recycled each year, is located in Livron sur Drome in the Rhône Valley.
Already a leader in renewable energies, with nearly 8 MWh installed on the 25 hectares of the site, GPA has chosen to add to the energy mix with the installation of a 100 KW wind turbine which should produce 380 MWh per year, and especially in winter and at night, when the panels are less efficient or stopped.
ENERLICE handled the preliminary studies, proposed machine selections, and installation. The wind turbine was chosen from among the European models offered based on rigorous technical and production criteria; the Italian manufacturer ESPE, with its elegant two-blade Class I wind turbine, provided the best technical and commercial compromise.
This type of industrial project, contributing to the energy mix with medium power output, is a pioneering initiative in France, and the GPA example should inspire other companies concerned with ensuring their energy balance.
